Landscape Linkages
• We were successful in securing the Queensland State Government’s Grassroots Environ-mental Grant for the GBSAN Landscape Linkages project - Stage 1. We received funding for $44,579 for this 3 year project
• We have funds for 1500 plantings as well as contracting specialists to work with 6 neigh-bouring landholders along Accommodation Creek, neighbouring Girraween NP. Specialists include Ecologist to do mapping of remnant bushland, gaps in the riparian zone corridors and planting maps; species identification, seed collection and propagation with Sarah Caldwell, weed and pest management as well as cultural awareness development. Wherev-er possible the sessions with specialists will be opened up to all 61 Landholders signed up to the Landscape Linkages project
• $15,000 of this funding is for equipment.
• Planning for Stage 2 is to be launched at Eukey Hall on 11 October. All landholders signed up to the project will be invited and we will have guest speakers and a progress report of Stage 1. We are aiming to increase Landholder numbers with existing members inviting a neighbour or 2 along. We will survey the possibilities and needs of landholders to start stage 2.
• Currently 61 Landholders signed up to the Landscape Linkages project.
