Landscape Linkages
Stage 1 launch
Stage 1 of the Landscape Linkages Project along the riparian zone of Accommodation Creek at Wyberba and Lyra begins this month. We have also purchased a 20-foot storage container to house new tools for loan to GBSAN members. We thank the Artworks Committee for agreeing to place the container near the café. This arrangement supports the shared goals of Artworks and GBSAN by strengthening community engagement, encouraging collaboration, and contributing to a vibrant, supportive community.
Property mapping and planning
The project will also begin mapping landholders’ properties, identifying remnant vegetation, and developing planting suggestions to help create the riparian corridor. Paul Revie, Senior Ecologist with Quoll Society Australia, will meet with individual landholders to discuss their goals and build their mapping skills for future planting.
Planning for Stage 2
Planning for Stage 2 is to be launched at Eukey Hall on 11 October. All landholders signed up to the project will be invited and we will have guest speakers and a progress report of Stage 1. We are aiming to increase Landholder numbers with existing members inviting a neighbour or two along. We will survey the possibilities and needs of landholders to start stage 2.
Currently 62 Landholders signed up to the Landscape Linkages project.
