Quoll Road Signs Finally Installed

For many years, negotiations have been going on between GBSAN, the Quoll Society, the Council and the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) about installing road signs to try and reduce quoll deaths on our highways. Finally some success with TMR recently installing signs on the Texas Road, Pyramids Road leading into Girraween National Park and on the highway south to Wallangarra.

These attractive green and white signs will help raise awareness about the presence of quolls on the Granite Belt and why we are such a remaining hot spot for this iconic threatened species. Already staff at Girraween have fielded favourable comments and interest from visitors.

Now we just need to convince the Council to erect similar signs on their roads such as Eukey and Amosfield where adjoining bush creates good connections for quoll movements.
